Sarpang Chhu Floodplain Migratory Bird Walk

"The floodplains of the Sarpang Chhu and Mangde Chhu host exceptional concentrations of wintering waterfowl from November to February — bar-headed geese, ruddy shelduck, Brahminy kite, and river lapwing nesting on gravel bars. A guided riverside walk with spotting scope reaches the most productive observation points at the rivers' braided channels, where winter congregations of several thousand birds create one of southern Bhutan's most spectacular wildlife spectacles in the morning light."
