Haa Summer Festival at Chelela Meadows
About this experience
"The Haa Summer Festival is an annual celebration of the district's nomadic highland culture staged on alpine meadows near Chelela Pass (3,988m) against a backdrop of glaciated peaks. The two-day event features traditional archery, Haa-style folk dance, yak-butter sculpture contests, and the dramatic Sho Drue Kha — a ritual horse race performed by local nomads in full festival dress. Craft stalls display hand-woven kishuthara and cane-work unique to the Haa region, rarely seen outside this remote valley."
