Gom Kora Tshechu Torchlit Night Circumambulation
About this experience
"Gom Kora is a sacred boulder formation near Doksum where Guru Rinpoche is said to have subdued a demon and impressed his body in the rock. The annual Gom Kora Tshechu draws pilgrims from across eastern Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh for a barefoot torchlit circumambulation believed to purify a year's accumulated negative karma. The festival market surrounding the site sells regional handicrafts and devotional items in a charged devotional atmosphere unlike any other in eastern Bhutan."
